Blanket Fort

With my wife studying for her certification exam and me still trying to get caught up from a week of being sick, the boys are spending a lot more time than usual having to entertain themselves.

The other day, they asked if they could make a blanket fort.

“Sure,” I said. “I’ll be upstairs if you need anything. Don’t bother your mom. She’s studying.”

“Okay.”

I came down an hour and a half later to check on them… and found a blanket fort of staggering complexity. They’d moved couches and chairs and even balanced sticks between couches to add extra supports.

“Um,” I said. “That’s pretty impressive… but we can’t get to your bedrooms.”

“No,” my youngest son said with a grin. “You can’t get to our bedrooms.”

Laughing, his older brother dove into one of the entrances, and then popped up by the door to the bedroom. “See?”

Alrighty then. I’m going back upstairs.
