Do it again

I listen to a wide variety of music when I’m up in my office: reggae, classical, jazz, blues, folk, “international”, classic rock, even a little pop from time to time. Realizing this, my wife keeps her eyes out for interesting CDs. Last year for one of the holidays she gave me a CD called “When I look in your eyes” by Diana Krall.

It’s a jazzy, bluesy thing, featuring a strong female voice over piano bar style music. It’s very catchy, and is great to have on in the background as I work. Unfortunately, one of the songs on that CD is called “Do it again.” It’s about as wrong a song as you could want, with the primary lyric being “I might say no, no, no, but do it again” sung in a sultry voice.

Even more unfortunately, songs stick in my head for longer than they should, and I have a bad tendency to hum, sing, or mutter as I walk around. I honestly, don’t even realize I’m doing it.

Well, the other day we discovered our 2 year old playing with the trains, singing “I might say no, no, no, but do it again! Dee-dee-dee, dee-dee-dee.”

Yikes.

It’s a really good thing that my wife gave me this CD. Otherwise, I’d be in a spot of trouble.

Or maybe I should say I’d be in more trouble…
