As I’ve mentioned before, we do a lot of singing here. It’s not always good singing, and we have developed a strong tradition of changing lyrics. For example, have you ever heard of the song “Frere Jacques”?

Well, this is what I found C singing the other day:

Where is Jacques?
Where is Jacques?
Door Ham Blue,
Door Ham Blue.
Some of them Matina.
Some of them Matina.
Door Ham Blue,
Door Ham Blue.

When I asked him what it meant, he created an elaborate story about a guy named “Jacques” who liked to eat blue ham and close doors.

I have to admit it – that’s better than I would have done had someone asked me the same question.
